Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tub Great therapeutic tub. Easy setup and easy maintenance. Pushy salesman and not very much customer service from the company

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TS 7.2: great spa, quality feel Really enjoying our TS 7.2, has a feel of quality to it, jets are powerful and pretty much has the full body covered across the various seats. Also fairest easy to set up and maintain once you get the hang of the various chemicals. My only wish would be to include a wifi link so settings could be controlled remotely, e.g. on a smart phone. Brilliant otherwise.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Reliability of parts for MS Twilight 7.2 Live in Boise, ID. Winters span Nov. to early March. Tub is exposed to both winter and direct sunlight summer conditions. Bought a Master Spa Twilight 7.2 in September 2019. In Feb 2020 the control unit failed. I was told by the local repair contractor that this is due to how the control panels are installed inside of the tub and can be exposed to chlorine gas buildup which facilitates water vapor passing through the vapor barrier of the control units. Fast forward three more years to Summer of 2023 and we replaced the cover. To be expected. Most hot tub covers wear down, particularly when exposed to intense summer sun. However, come winter 2023 (year 4 of ownership) pump 1, a 2 speed, 3.5HP Balboa pump, which is used for both circulation and cleaning at low speed and the first setting of jets at high speed, begins to fail (initially a high-pitch whine, then intermittent on/off). I also notice that there is leaking on both sides of the control system under the tub. Both seals are rotted out. So this past week I personally replaced pump 1 ($395) and the control unit seals and notice that the replaced control panel is intermittently responsive. I did some homework online and learned that Master Spa and their parts manufacturer (Balboa) have redesigned the control panel due to a high rate of failure. I am now waiting on that new control panel (the third one) to be delivered. So why two stars and not one? When operational, the spa is great. So far, replacement parts have been readily available and implementing them myself has been possible. I'm no engineer, but not afraid to try. Hot tubs are like boats. You're going to put money into them. But you want them to be reliable enough to use when you want to use them. I'm hopeful with the new and improved control unit, and a new pump, we get another 4 years out of the hot tub without major repairs. Anything beyond that will be gravy. When considering a replacement, I won't rule Master Spa out, but I will certainly evaluate other brands and reliability.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do Not Buy This Brand - Complete Junk Bought a Twilight 7.2 in June 2021. Had both the control panel and pump #1 fail 2 months after the warranty expired. This is in additional to the control panel failing once under warranty (which didn't extend for the new item), the diverter breaking because it is cheap plastic, and multiple jets breaking. I got sold on "American Made, best craftsmanship" garbage by the salespeople. This brand is complete junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from spa motor and display failed after 3 years 3 years 4 months and the pump 1 failed, overheated the spa to 110 degrees and you can't read the digital display. The last spa I had I did not have issues until 8 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two year review. We have had our hot tube for 2 years. At a guess I would say maintenance has been more expensive then the salesman suggested at purchase. Filter are very expensive and hard to find. The local dealer is harder to reach with more time that passes but we have been able to find our way around this. After two years the led lights are messing up and the control lost the sticker. I would say for the money a few components are cheaper than I would like but over all a very solid hot tube. Happy to say it has never let us down, even when my kids have their friends over and you wish it would go down!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the greatest It looks a lot better than it feels. The valves are very flimsy. He can’t run all the valves at the same time. The electronics box doesn’t work if it gets wet I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Live in Texas, hot summer ! Want temp of my Twilight 7.2 (2017 or 2018) to be 84 like a swimming pool.I set temp fpr 84 but water continues to be about 100, what am I doing wrong ?

Asked by: patcronin
There is no cooling unit on a spa (unless you selected to have a special external heat- cool pump installed as well) there is only a heater and allowing your spa to cool down naturally. It sounds like you are suffering from something we in the spa industry call "heat creep". Your spa turned down will ensure that it won't heat but spa general activity, like spa jets or long filter cycles run the pumps for long periods of time. Pumps themselves make heat in general when they run that warm up the insulated cabinet - so making sure these are turned down to a minimum and running just during the cooler points of the day is a big help. You can also set your spa into rest mode. Open your air controls to allow outside air in or even vent your cover a little to help release the well-insulated heat.

We are new owners. The temperature was set at 101 and the spa will not work because it’s at 110 degrees. How does this happen

Asked by: Kregg
What often can happen especially in warmer weather is something we call "Heat Creep". You can set a temp for your spa- and when it is reached the heater WILL stop heating but that doesn't mean that your temperature cannot continue to rise as the only way a spa can cool down is naturally- there is no cooling unit standard on a spa. So, if the insulating cover is still on, the air controls are closed, it is rather hot outside, or any of the pumps are running (pumps create their own heat just by running) heat happens. The spa tests for heat and if it senses you are above 104 degrees it completely shuts down to give it some safety time to cool. Somethings you may wish to look at altering during warm weather to keep this from happening are- 1. check your filter cycles how low do they run and when are they running? Can they be moved to times of the day that may be cooler like the morning or evening? Can they be reduced? Several hours a day can create quite a bit of extra heat and may not be necessary we recommend a total of 2 hours twice a day at least for spa cleanliness. 2. is there any time of day it would be safe to vent your cover to release heat? A quick tip we can share: if it possible to place something like a tennis ball, rolled towel or pool noodle in between the cover and the lip of the spa (you can latch the cover still when you do this) - this allows the release of heat from the insulation of the spa and has nice result for some customers, just make sure to check on your spa regularly. 3. your heating behavior- if it possible to turn down the setting of your spa to something like 90 degrees during warmer months if you just seem to be creeping up with warmer weather, or you could try out a different "mode" for your spa- standard mode will test and adjust your heat on a regular basis every 30 minutes( running the pumps each time it does this) - if changed to the "economy" or "sleep" modes the heating behavior will change to test and heat just during filter cycles- this gives the spa more time to cool down in between. How much, does the average hot tub or swim spa cost?

Asked by: Anonymous
Master Spas specialty retailers set their own prices, as factors such as shipping and special features can affect the cost. Typically, though, hot tubs start at about $6,000. Swim spa prices range between $20,000 and $55,000. Here is a link where you can find a local dealer. https://www.masterspas.com/find-a-dealer
